Social Media Posts

As a reporter for Night & Day Magazine, I was responsible for managing the publication’s social media channels, which include Instagram @nightdaymag, Twitter @nightdaymag and Facebook @NightAndDay08736. I regularly posted content in correspondence to the release of each issue highlighting cover details and specific feature articles. Since Night & Day is the official entertainment guide for the Jersey Shore, I also shared relevant dining and event content through the acccount’s Facebook and Instagram pages to serve as a resource for followers on what was happening in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

During my time managing the social media accounts, engagement increased on all channels. In order to engage users and reach new followers I worked with the company’s publisher and my supervisor who would use our business account to boost relevant posts. The Instagram account’s follower count hit 1K during my time running it and was under 350 followers when I took it over.

As a writing intern for the Rutgers School of Social Work, I launched the school’s first social media campaign aimed at engaging alumni and saw a 60 percent increase in Facebook likes. I posted content on a week by week basis with  a post for every day of the week on the Rutgers School of Social Work Alumni Facebook page.

In an effort to engage alumni I worked with my supervisor to create trivia questions and interavtive posts, which users enjoyed.
